In 2022, the National Guard and its Soldiers and Airmen were once again called upon in increasing numbers. While these Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen are working hard to support their communities and protect our Nation, the National Guard Relief Foundation is there when they are affected by a catastrophic personal hardship, a nationwide-pandemic, or a declared national disaster such as the tornadoes in Kentucky or Hurricanes Ian and Fiona which struck in Florida and Puerto Rico this past year.
The We Care for America Foundation, Inc. is the 501c(3) charitable organization of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS). Also known as the National Guard Relief Foundation, the primary purpose of the Foundation is to serve as the military relief society for National Guard members. The Foundation is committed to providing emergency financial assistance (grants, interest-free loans, and disaster relief) to the men and women of the National Guard and their families.
From our humble beginnings when the Foundation was first established, to today, our emergency relief resources and the demand for assistance have continued to grow over the last 31 years. We owe a debt of gratitude to the EANGUS leadership who originally established the We Care for America Foundation in 1992, to those who have continued to support our mission, and to USAA and the USAA Foundation who provided several large donations in 2020-2021 which allowed us to establish an Interest-Free Loan Program and provide much-needed grants to National Guard families impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Foundation continues to play an integral role in taking care of the National Guard’s Soldiers, Airmen and their Families. The attached 2022 Annual Report and the additional Statistical Report demonstrate the impact and assistance provided over the last year. We remain committed to meeting the needs of National Guard members in the future and appreciate your continued support!
